A stageplay about video bloggersVlogging is the new rock and roll. Young people are increasingly finding their entertainment in the world of social media.
Internet sensation Ryan Marten has built up a legion of dedicated teen fans for his vlogs and shirtless selfies. But audiences are discerning and everyone has a shelf life. If Ryan cannot see the full potential of online media, he will be left behind as manager Dee finds a reluctant new star, Chloe, who wants to use her status as a force for good. Follow/Unfollow previewed at the Greater Manchester Fringe, Buxton Fringe, Shiny New Liverpool and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals in 2015. Theatre audiences could also watch the Ryan character's YouTube channel and you can still follow Ryan on Twitter. |

STATEMENT FROM RYAN "RYANO" MARTEN ON FLYER FIRE DURING FESTIVAL RUN
STARTS:
Hey all you Ryanos out there.
This is a bad day. I have been the victim of an aggressive arson attack. A triple A if you will. All my flyers displaying MY FACE have been burnt without authorisation. Completely and sadly utterly also.
I don't want to point the finger of blame. I don't want to point the finger of suspicion. I don't want to point. My finger gets stiff.
BUT I HAVE MY SUSPICIONS (Cough, cough ex-best friend Darren!!!)
This action - this Aggressive Arson Attack (AAA) happened after a cracking night out with a cheeky Nando's followed by some Coronas (because I like the little lime in the head of the bottle.) I had three and then another four. Came back to the place (or pad) were staying for an extra cheeky fry up in the wee small hours.
Whilst I was asleep in the kitchen cooking basically someone (cough, Darren) must have broken in and set FIRE to the surrounding area around the frying pan and table top where my flyers for Follow/Unfollow (the play I star in as me) were positioned.
This targeted action of hatred (this AAA) has actually rocked me to the core. That Darren (or for legal reasons, whoever) could do this - and without obvious signs of a break in is shocking. And furthermore he's done it from Barcelona where he's on a family holiday. But I know it was him.
And my flyers are in smithereens. Which will make it much harder to tell people about the show.
So yeah if you could share this, share the link to the show it would help. Mainly to get back at Darren.
Thanks for reading. Like, comment and subscribe and click my fire-damaged face.
Ryan x

Here is one of the bonus videos where Ryan met Dave Benson Phillips from Get Your Own Back (GYOB). This was after doing GYOB to promote Follow/Unfollow and inspired the webseries 'Getting Back with Dave Benson Phillips' |
